As you may already know, the auction house plays the biggest role in making gold in the world of Warcraft. How you choose to auction items can have a big effect on how much gold you make in Warcraft. Here are a few good tips I use to get the highest possible amount of gold for the items I farm.
The first auction house tip I want to talk about is about selling at the right time. To many people farm their items and go straight to the auction house to put them up. Yes you will make some gold doing this, but if if you're patient and wait to sell them at the right time then you could make a lot more gold. The price of items in the auction house go drastically up and down due to temporary saturations of the market. If you notice your market has an unusually high number of sellers then chances are the bids and buyouts are lower. If you hold off for a while the saturation will decrease some and your items will be worth more gold. Most smart sellers sell when the saturation subsides which means you will be competing with them if you do the same. This is a good thing as smart sellers go for the highest amount of gold possible which means you don't have to worry about newbies coming in and screwing up the market potential, at least for a while. The bottom line is to have patience when selling in the auction house. Wait until the time is right, less sellers and higher prices.
One of my favorite auction house gold strategies is to take over a specific market. To do this you will need some gold as an initial investment. If your market is pretty big this may be dangerous. If you have a ton of gold though it should work for almost any market. The idea is to buyout everyone selling the item you want to sell. If you can do this successfully without running out of gold then you will have complete control over the market. This will allow you to control the prices and set them higher than what you paid for them, producing a profit on every gold transaction. The upside to this strategy is you don't have to go around wow gold farming all over the place. You can just start buying all the items in your market and start raising prices. The downside to this auction house gold strategy is that you do have to spend time watching your market closely to make sure nobody has time to compete with you.
These are just a few auction house gold tips that should increase the value of the items you worked hard to farm. If you can learn the art of mastering the auction house then I guarantee you will be a rich Warcraft player with thousands of gold.
World of Warcraft Gold Farming Guide
I'm not a professional Warcraft gold farmer but I do quite well. I owe a lot of what I know to a guy named Derek Beachler who is a professional gold farmer. He has become quite famous since the recent release of his new WoW gold guide known as Derek's Gold Mastery Guide. I highly recommend this WoW gold guide if you want to know everything about making gold in the World of Warcraft. The auction house, professions, grinding, vanity items, and lots more are all covered in this comprehensive WoW gold guide.

Mining Copper Ore
Farming Copper Ore is an awesome way to make some wow gold for low level players with mining as a profession. When I was a low level player I could afford pretty much anything I wanted that was available to my level. This was all because of Copper Ore. Copper Ore can be sold for 1-3 gold a stack depending on your server. If you smelt it into bars it will be worth slightly more. I could farm 3-4 stacks of the ore when I was a level five. Thats a pretty high amount of gold for such a low level player to earn.
I have found that the best place to mine Copper Ore is in the northern mountain borders of Elwynn Forest. There are at least 30 mines in the mountains and rock bluffs throughout Elwynn Forest. You will even find a few mines in the lakes and rivers in the region. While mining the ore you will also come across lots of Rough Stone which can be sold for around 20 silver. The occasional Malachite and Tigers Eye can also be farmed to make wow gold.
In the Sentinal Hill area of Westfall there are some more Copper Mines. There are not near as many as Elwynn Forest, but you can still get a decent amount of Copper there. I usually mine this area and kill the abundant Defias Trappers for copper, cloth, and experience points.

Chinese farmers going under
Back in the day the Chinese farmers were making a ton of money selling Warcraft gold. They still are today but their profits have taken a huge dent. I'm pretty sure they're going to be out of business here shortly, at least for Warcraft. I believe this is a good thing as it makes the World of Warcraft more authentic. There are two key factors responsible for them going under.
The main reason is that it ruins the whole point of the game. Both Blizzard and the players know this. Recently tens of thousands of player's Warcraft accounts have been deleted due to buying gold from known gold sellers. Lets give Blizzard a high five for finally putting their foot down when they should.
Another adding factor for the decay of gold selling companies is from the Warcraft gold guides popping up on the internet. These Warcraft gold guides are pretty much taking money right out of their pockets. Professional gold farmers used to sell gold and characters to the Chinese farmers. A few of them like Derek have created a Warcraft gold guide based off the strategies they used to make gold. Real Warcraft gold guides like Dereks appeal to players more than buying gold over and over again. Theres also no risk of getting banned.
How much longer do Chinese gold farmers got? Not long I imagine. The slap from Blizzard knocked them down and the new gold guides are going to finish the job. Good bye guys I won't miss you!
The Ace of Elementals
The Ace of Elementals can sell for 30-60 gold depending on your server. Once a week at the Lake of Kel'Theril there is a water elemental invasion by Princess Tempestria who drops the Ace of Elementals and other blue items. You can also farm the Essence of Water from the Elementals. This isn't something you can do all the time but its worth checking out once a week.
Need some Motes?
Throughout your quest in the World of Warcraft you will definately be needing motes of all sorts. Motes are needed to advance through the game but they are also decent gold makers if you have some extras to sell. Common Motes can be boughten cheap at the auction house. Here is where you can farm the rare motes for persoal use or to make some gold.
Motes of fire are best farmed at Skald in Blade's Edge Mountain. Motes of air are best farmed at the Altar of Shadows in Shadow Moon Valley. Motes of water can be farmed from the Lake Spirits in Nagrand. Motes are not the best gold makers in Warcraft, but they do bring in 2-3 gold a piece for the rare ones. This isn't to bad though if you come up with a good strategy of farming them at the locations I just described.
Orb of Deception
The Orb of Deception is a rare vanity item that very few people take the time to farm. A lot of people don't even know where its located. You do however have to be at least a level 55 or higher. The Orb can be farmed from the Dragons in Dire Mauls Arena. These Dragons also have a high drop rate for blue items. The Orb itself has a very low drop rate but is well worth the time once you get it. It can sell for 400-500 gold depending on your server. So far I have successfully farmed and sold the Orb of Deception three times. This is a great item to farm for gold in Warcraft if you got the patience.
A few basic yet common mistakes made when farming gold in Warcraft
Warcraft gold farming is an art form in its own way. It takes time, knowledge, and lots of trial and error. Warcraft gold farming is definitely not something that can be mastered overnight, but with practice and knowledge it can be learned by anyone. Out of the nine million people that play the World of Warcraft only a very small percentage actually have wow gold farming mastered.
One of the biggest reasons people aren’t making as much gold as they’d like is because of a surprisingly basic concept. People spend too much time trying to make Warcraft gold when they are at a low or mid level. Of course you are going to need gold at these levels, but your main focus should be on leveling your wow character. Some of you may not know this but when you hit level 70 you are in the position to make a lot more gold in Warcraft. This position comes into play with questing. You get way more gold for completing quests at level 70 then you do for quests at lower levels. Blizzard made it this way to keep players still interested in the game after they gained the maximum experience.
Another common reason people are having trouble making gold in Warcraft is because they don’t take enough time to come up with a specific wow gold farming plan. People here from one guy that questing is the best way to farm gold, and then another guy says farming vanity items is the best farming technique. People get confused and try all of the wow gold farming techniques they’ve heard of and end up with little or no gold. What you should do is decide on a specific gold making plan that appeals to you and stick with it for at least a few weeks. Try tweaking it and adding variations to improve your gold per hour. I have made some simple tweaks to some of my runs and noticed an increase of 30 gold per hour. I only came up with these tweaks because I stuck with the same gold method even though it wasn’t producing a lot of gold at first. An example of when I did this one time was in Nagrand. I had a gold run I did in the shape of a circle. I would always have about a three minute pause after the run while waiting for the beasts to respawn. After doing this gold run about twenty times I realized there was a chest right off my path a ways. This chest has a high rate for blue items and produced an epic one time. I now hit this chest and one more while running this specific path to increase my gold per hour.
The bottom line here is don’t rush yourself to make wow gold. I know it can be frustrating but you need to take the time to level your character and come up with a good Warcraft gold farming plan. By doing this you can ensure that you will make a lot more gold.
When deciding on a gold farming technique you should try to pick something profitable and enjoyable to you at the same time. After all the World of Warcraft is a game, you're suspose to have fun. You will also probably make more gold using a gold farming technique you enjoy simply because you will do it more often.

Farming Crystal Infused Leather
Crystal Infused Leather sells for 10-20 gold a stack and is fairly easy to farm. The best place to farm it would be from the Bladespine Basilisk in Blade's Edge Mountains. The drop rate here is really high at 11%.
Another good spot for farming crystal infused leather is from the Quillfang Ravagers at Hellfire Peninsula. The drop rate here is about 2%. You can also expect some Fel Scales and the occassional green. The Fel Scales only sell for 1 gold a piece but are a handy ingredient for leather workers.
Where I do most of my skinning
Nagrand, one my favorite places in the World of Warcraft. Without a doubt Nagrand is one of the best places for high level skinners. The place is covered with all kinds of beasts. Truly a skinners dream come true. Some people are making upwards of 75 gold an hour by skinning like a mad man and completing the daily quests for Orgri'la and Sketties. There are three runs there that have produced a lot of gold for me. I've focused on skinning Nether Cobras and Clefthoof Bulls in this area and can now average 80 gold an hour. In one of my runs there is a treasure chest that produces blues and rarely an epic.
The Blade Edge Mountains are just as good a farming spot for skinners as Nagrand, if not better. One of the best things about wow gold farming at Blade Edge is the leather drop rate from beasts. It is surprisingly high compared to anywhere else in the Warcraft. The Lions at Blade Edge Mountains are known for having the highest drop rate of knothide leather. The Lions in this area are heavily farmed but you should still be able to make some gold. I can make about 65 gold an hour in this one triangular run I do there sometimes.
For skinners these two areas are probably the best in my opinion. They have the largest population of Beasts in the World of Warcraft. Bring a knife, some gloves, and an attitude and you can come up with some great wow gold farming techniques in these parts.
Gold farming in Shadowmoon Valley - Cobra Scales
Another good farming spot for skinners is at Coilskar Point in Shadowmoon Valley (53,24). There you will find the Coilskar Cobra. Cobra Scales are dropped from these snakes and are only found at this location. Most people only see and farm the 3-5 snakes outside the cave. Big mistake as there are actually 10-15 more inside. You can average 5-7 Cobra Scales an hour by going after the cobras inside the cave. The scales go for 20-60 gold depending on your server. Make sure you use this gold tip quick while people are still unaware of this!
Gold farming in Felwood - Leather
One of my favorite farming spots for skinners is just north of Bloodvenom Post in Felwood (37,43). There you will find 10-15 Angerclaw Mauler Bears that can be killed fairly quickly. The respawn rate is very fast which is why this is such a great farming spot. You make gold from the gray items and leather. You can make anywhere from 10-15 gold an hour here with the various stackable gray items. The real gold however comes from the rugged and thick leather skinned from the poor beasts. You can make anywhere from 20-30 gold an hour from the leather depending on your server. Cassandra's Grace can also be dropped from the bears occasionally. This can go for around 30 gold. People are making a ton of gold from farming these bears and it is getting more popular everyday. You better jump on this while you can.
